Why can't I import start/due dates? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I've been trying to import via OmniOutliner and Excel files containing about 80 lines with a name, start date, and due date. I exported from excel as tab-delim text and opened in OO. Then saved the OO file and tried to import into OF (mapping the fields correctly). I can't get the dates into the start/due date fields, they always end up as meta-data notes. I even got the dates to OO in the exact same format as they appear in the OF inspector, e.g., Sep 9, 2009 12:00 AM.

I really need to be able to do this to avoid typing 80-100 tasks into OF once a year. The excel sheet sets a bunch of relative dates for me, so I need to start there. Computers are supposed to make our lives easier, no?

HELP!

In OmniOutliner, make sure the column type is set to "Date" for your start and due date columns. (You can do this by right- or control-clicking on each column and selecting Column Type->Date from the contextual menu.)

Does that help?

Bingo. That one I probably could have figured out. Dumb.

Thank you. That helps a lot!
