For some reason when I insert a page number variable into a shared layer, it only shows up as even number page 4 shows as 4, page 5 shows as 6, page 6 shows as 8 etc. Whats up with this and how do I fix it.

For some reason, when I input a page variable in a shared layer in my document, the pagination skips to odd or evens. What's the cause of this? Can it be fixed?

Is it possible that the canvases in your document are larger than a single page? That variable refers to the sheets of paper as defined by your print settings.

With my canvas set to be 2 pages wide and 1 page tall, I can get that variable to behave the way you describe on a shared layer. If I put it on the left side, I see pages 1, 3, 5... on each canvas; on the right side, I get pages 2, 4, 6 etc.
