For those who want a bookmarks menu like in Safari Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes

Just create a bookmark with no label with the url: bookmarks:/
Put it as the first entry in your favourite bookmarks folder in the bookmark manager.
Et voilą, you have a nice closed book when the bookmark manager is closed. Clicking on it will open the manager and the icon will change to an opened book, as well.
