Spotlight opens document in Search mode

I sometimes open an OmniOutliner document by searching for it by name in Spotlight. When I do, it opens with the name of the document in the drawer's search field, which is never what I want. Is this behavior somehow forced by the operating system, or is OmniOutliner just being too clever?
