I have been happily using omnifocus sync to keep all of my data up to date, but I can't sync at the school where I work. They are fairly restrictive in their network control but amenable to opening a port if necessary.

I use MobileMe to sync this is the only location where it won't work. I'm using my own laptop to access the school's wifi.

Any suggestions on what to tell the IT department?
