Ah ha! So rather than thinking about "Undo Closed Tab", what I really should be thinking about is an archive where you can access the last [N] closed tabs… That certainly seems like a clearer arrangement, sorry for the mental block on my part!

An archive would be great too — but to be able to reopen the last-closed tab with a single command is also important, to me at least. When I make a mistake like that, I’d like to be able to just hit a key combo and keep going (rather than having to mouse over to a drop-down and select).
(I think that’s why the feature is so frequently talked about in terms of “undoing”: because for most users the issue is having made a mistake just as they might in a word-processor.) Last edited by PhilMac; 2009-09-06 at 07:48 AM.. Reason: addendum

Ken, you ought to take a look at the way the Tab Mix Plus add-on handles this in Firefox.
