I feel quite dumb, but I hadn't had OmniWeb set to check for updates. I just enabled that today and found that my version 5.6 is now out of date, as 5.8 is out. But the updater says that is a $14.95 upgrade. Looking on the website, it doesn't seem that there is any upgrade price going from v5.x to another v5.x. If I was running a v4.x then it's only $4.95 [a steal!].

So I am curious if this is just a visual issue with the updater or a bug?

Yes, I'm a legal owner of OmniWeb - bought it 12/24/2006 along with OmniPlan [using my cullasaja.com e.mail address].

It is a free update. OmniGroup only charge for 1.x to 2.x to 3.x etc. updates and not for .x to .xx updates.

This was a problem with 5.6, it always displayed the price of the app. 5.7 and later will display free updates correctly.
