Is anyone else having problems with 5.3 crashing? I have been using 5.2.3 and have had no crashes over the past few months. I upgraded to 5.3 and have had 3 crashes today so far.

Did you try removing your OmniGraffle preferences file? Go into the Library/Preferences file in your home directory, drag any files with OmniGraffle in the name to the desktop, and try launching again. If that fixes the problem, mail the bogus preference files to omnigraffle@omnigroup.com, perhaps they can deduce something from them.

In the future, especially when reporting crashes with an application that has just been updated at the time that a new version of the operating system has come out (so just about any combination is likely), report the version numbers of all the pieces! There's a known crasher with OG 5.3 running under Leopard, but none of you provided enough information to know if that is likely to be the cause of your problems. http://www.omnigroup.com/support/faq...bug_reporting/

Sorry for the trouble, folks! As Bill mentioned, we've gotten a couple of reports of crashes on launch from folks running 10.5 - we've got a beta release of 5.3.1 up on our site, which should resolve this crash.

As an aside: I understand the stress something like this can cause, but please don't post in threads about other topics trying to attract attention to a thread about an issue you're having. That just clutters up the forums and makes them less useful for other visitors - particularly the ones having a discussion in that thread. Emailing us is going to be much more effective.

Is there anywhere I can get a copy of 5.2.x as I have upgraded to 5.3.x and now I am unable to start omnigraffle.

Hi,

So after reading a couple of the other posts. I removed the properties in ~/Library/Preferences/omni*

this seems to have fixed things..

Well, no one on the forum needs to know, except perhaps those you hope will help you. It isn't the primary Omni support channel, but a place for users to help each other, with contributions on an as-time-permits basis from Omni staff.

I know that when I need help with something, I prefer to force any potential good Samaritan to take the time to get to know me first by playing 20 questions, none of this skipping directly to solving my problem :-)
