Problems With Custom Style Sheets Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I'm encountering a little problem here.

I'm using a custom style sheet for a forum I frequent as a site-specific preference (the style sheet can be found at http://www.ualberta.ca/~bvrolijk/Dark-Forumopolis.txt ) and it works wonderfully...about 85% of the time. It seems completely random but sometimes the style sheet just doesn't apply.

Is this a known issue? Anything I can do to fix it?

when does it fail? Always on the same page?

Any page at the domain. Really, it's quite random. It's almost as if sometimes it just chooses not to apply the style sheet.

Which domain is this?

Thanks. I'll see if we can reproduce any problems here.

The CSS sheet has been updated:

http://www.ualberta.ca/~bvrolijk/Dark-Fopolis.css

It happens less now, but still occasionally.

I'm in the same community using the same style sheet and this happens to me about 15% of the time as well. It mostly occurs at http://www.forumopolis.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2 (usually when I first load it...1-3 refreshes will usually solve it) and in the control panel/private messages. It never seems to occur much in actual threads.

This happens on my OW as well with web forums some more than others. initial page loading is usually loading my CSS but when refreshing the page it some how displays some other font type and size.

another example

http://billion.com.au/forums/

Also many sites and forums will refuse to adhere to my CSS rule

a:visited, a:visited:hover, a:link:active { color: purple !important; }

Anyone know why this is?? Its pet HATE of mine in the WWW, links not changing colors after I've visited them!!

bump

the following page refuses to change link color when visited this is a huge problem in OW and Safari 3, Camino does NOT have the problem, all 3 browsers use the same Style sheet code.

Please anyone know why this is a problem in OW and how to fix it???????????

http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx

my style code:

html, body, * {
font-family: Optima !important;
font-size: 10px !important;
}
pre {
font-family: Optima !important;
}
a:visited, a:visited:hover, a:link:active {
color: purple !important;
}
a:link, a:visited, a:hover, a:active {
text-decoration: underline !important;
}
