Please:

1. Have a way to visually display that a page you’re viewing has site preferences set for it (status bar? Toolbar icon? Something else?).

Right now, you need to open the site prefs pane AND check all the tabs in it for the blue dots.


2. A way to set site prefs both as it is now (by domain) and by URL, so I can have different site prefs for adobe.com and forums.adobe.com.

1. Not disputing your request, but there is an easier way to view all the domains that have site preferences set by using your Bookmarks window (there is a Site Preferences collection - activate it using the hammer and spanner icon at the bottom of the collections pane). It won't show you which preferences, but you can remove the domain if you want to reset it back to the default for all preferences. What would help here would be additional column options showing you which preferences have been changed from the default for each domain.

Also, it would be nice if when you highlight an item in this bookmark collection, the pane at the bottom of the window shows the site preferences UI instead of the (greyed-out) bookmark info UI.

It's true, but it's also not very overt.

IMHO it would be more evident to users to display this info via the toolbar/location bar, as some of the other browser are 'innovating' (though sometimes overloading!)
