Issue: no way to set or check parallel or sequential status on action groups (subprojects).

Workaround: make the action group a project. You can then set parallel or sequential status, then move it back inside its project. You can also start a subproject as a project, set its status, and then move it inside another project. To move a project inside another project, you have to hit move on the detail screen, press convert to action item. It will then show up in the project Miscellaneous; change the project from Miscellaneous to your chosen project. If an action group is sequential, then all but the first actionable item will be grayed out, but this is not foolproof. Of course, it's easy to do this stuff on the desktop, but the point of having an iPad is to not need your desktop, isn't it?

Slated for 1.1, just didn't have time to get the UI in for 1.0. Won't need the workaround for long, I bet.

Looks like the newly created action groups follow the default synced over from the Mac, so you could think about your most frequent action group nature, set the default to that, and change any projects you create that need the opposite setting with the UI that is there.
