Typing 'localhost' Doesn't Work Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
One thing that is an annoyance more than anything, if I type:

localhost:3000

into the location field, I get a page saying it can't handle 'localhost'.

I have to type in 'http://localhost:3000'. Every other browser I have ever tried auto-completes the original for me. It seems OmniWeb could too.

This is on 5.5.
 
You're right... another thing that didn't make it over from 5.1.3.
 
you could create a shortcut in the meantime:



And then type "localhost 3000" in the address bar.
 
I reported this as a bug some time ago. If you type: somesite.com:1234 it doesn't realise it's a host + port.
 
Sorry about this. it is on our list of things that need fixing.
