Silly question - how to exclude inbox from perspective Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Ok, this might be a silly question as I'm sure there must be a setting to make this happen, but I haven't found anything yet. And now that I'm switching back to OF for the summer, I remember that had annoyed me in the past:

For any saved perspective, whatever my selected options (e.g.: restore everything), and whatever I do when I take the snapshot to exclude the inbox from view, the inbox seems to be "sticky" and is the first thing I see on top of everything else when I switch to a perspective.
Is there any way for me to exclude the inbox from view, or at least guarantee that another folder is selected so it's the first thing I see in the main window, when saving a perspective?

Thanks!

A perspective is a "snapshot" of what you have going on when you take it.

So just select the folders in the left that you want, and ensure the inbox isn't selected. You can command-click multiple folders or projects and then save the perspective, and the Inbox will not appear at right.

Hi CatOne,

Thanks for your message -I've tried that, but for me (1.7.5-v77.41.7) the selection of a folder doesn't stick: the Inbox always appears on top in the main (right-hand side) window.

Hmmm. Possible it's a bug. I'm running the 1.8 Sneaky Peeks and not seeing the issue.

Must have been, thanks! I'm now running the Sneaky Peek and it worked like a charm right out of the box!
