Am I missing something here? Please tell me I am. If I can't see the notes of the actions I'm performing, I'm in big trouble as I am so "on the go" I am totally dependent on larger amounts of information. Thanks folks.

You are. ;-) You should see note content displayed beneath an action's title when in the action view. To edit the note, tap the blue circle with the right-pointing arrow that appears on the right side of the action in action view (does that make sense?).
