Projects and Tasks in Context and Perspectives view Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hi there,

Love the new OF2 on iphone! So many great improvements, though a few nagging issues still...

One of the issues that I have in the context and perspectives views is that tasks are presented in long lists, rather than being grouped in some meaningful way (e.g. by project) as is done in the project view. The problem is that if you have a number of projects with many tasks under the same context, the context view provides you with just a very long list of tasks which is very difficult to work from. I can't understand why this behaviour is different between the project and context/perspectives views. It would be very helpful to provide the ability to group the tasks belonging to a project in a collapsible list when using the context view. This would cut down on the noise significantly.

Similarly in perspectives views, when a project is listed, OF2 first lists the tasks for the project and then the project name after the list of tasks. If the project name is listed at all (its only listed in perspectives views, not the context view), it would make more sense if the tasks were listed UNDER the project name. However, it would be much better if the project was collapsible in the same way that it is under the project view.

A second problem in the perspectives views (for example the 'due' perspective) is that you can tick off all of the subtasks of a project (there are circular tick areas to mark them as complete) that is due, but there is no circular tick area for the project that holds those subtasks. Tasks can be cleared easily from your list, but to clear the project itself you have to go into the inspector and mark that as 'complete'. It would be great if the same button is available on the project as well as on the subtasks - not a huge deal, but would be nice.
