How do I make Shadow off the default style?

You can inspect the Shape Tool by Option-clicking on it, then turning off shadows in the Shadow Inspector.

Thank you for the response, but I did not get the answer that I needed because my first question was unclear. I will try again.

How do I turn off Shadows for all time? Is there some sort of global preference? I do not want Shadows for any shape.

Inspecting the Shape Tool is how you effect global changes.

Objects that already have shadows won't be affected.

Oh well, I give up. Thanks for the help, but it is not working for me. I know how to turn off Shadow one shape at a time or for all selected shapes on the canvas, but I have no clue how to follow your instructions and make the instructions work so that future shapes added to the canvas will have Shadow off.

Click and hold on the little triangle in the lower right hand corner of the Shape Tool's button, then from the drop down menu select "Inspect Style". Go to the Shadow Inspector, turn off shadows.

Thereafter, all new shapes created with that tool will not have shadows.

Same goes for the Pen Tool, you can inspect its defaults as well.
