VPN and https problems Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I don't think this is specifically an OmniWeb issue. But I'm at a loss to figure out how to access https sites after installing Cisco's VPN on my MacBook (10.4.8).

After figuring out that the VPN must be causing the issue, I tried many different things to get any browser to access https pages (no browser will work either at school or on my home network). All to no avail. ITS at my school couldn't help either, though I got after hours help.

I would try posting this issue on the Apple board as well, especially since about one year ago someone had a similar issue that went unanswered. Of course, not being able to access https URLs means it's impossible for me to post on the Apple discussion forums.

Any ideas? I have removed all the VPN software, rebooted my machine and home network, run some system utilities, emptied the cache and cleared all cookies. But nothing seems to have any effect.

Thanks.

Well, maybe it is a Webkit issue. Just tried with FF (Minefield actually) and the https sites were accessible. Still not so in OW or Safari.

On the Apple boards, a poster mentioned that it may be a system issue.

Any ideas? I hate having to use another browser just for a few https sites.

It seems that Cisco vpn problem is well documented, too.

So...
