SugarSync Wiping Out OmniOutline data. Way to restore? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I have been using SugarSync to keep my documents folder in sync between two computers. I am noticing an issue with SugarSync and my OmniOutliner3 files. If an outline is open when SugarSync syncs files/folders the data is lost and the outline shows a file size of 0K. Where does OmniOutliner store the backup files? I tried examining the "Package Contents" via the Finder but I cannot locate the backup file that is supposed to be happening every 5 minutes.

Best Regards.

Are you using 3.7 or later? If so, the backup is saved as .OOBK in the file wrapper. Files that start with a period are hidden so you won't see it in the Finder. However, I haven't looked at SugarSync yet so that file may likely as well have been lost unfortunately. Have you seen this problem, or used other apps that use file wrappers, with SugarSync?

So far there don't seem to be any problems with other program data.

How do you examine an outline's wrapper? I went into the Terminal and set it up to show me invisible files but even after examining the outline's package contents I didn't see the backup file... I am obviously missing something.

I'm using 3.7.2

The .OOBK file is only present when there are unsaved changes and an autosave has happened. Once the changes have been saved in the main outline, it goes away.
