Can't figure out how to organize OmniFocus Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I am a staff attorney for a court. My job largely consists of drafting orders and judgments and some research.

I have a single action list called "Orders/Judgments." Because most of these are standard, I need only fill-in details to the order templates. Occasionally, though, I need to talk to the judge about the case before I draft the document.

What's the best way to handle this? It doesn't really fit in single actions because I have two actions: talk to the judge and draft the order. But on the other hand, it doesn't really make sense to me to make it a project, when it is just going to be the same extra step, "talk to judge," each time.

If I understand correctly, then perhaps you want a parallel Action Group …

Orders/Judgements [sequential single action project]
- get request for action
- research case
- Draft Document [parallel action group]
-- get confirmation from judge
-- draft document
- finalize judgement
- send judgement to parties concerned

Great Idea! I keep forgetting you can have parallel action groups.
