Is there a way of making a master canvas with a gradient background that:

1. Does not spill over to cause the master canvas to be enlarged in size?

2. Occupies the whole screen in presentation mode? At the moment, whenever I used a gradient box as a canvas background, the left and right margins remain blank, which makes for a funny-looking slide.
