Folks who work in PC-based environments, how do you apply Omnifocus? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes

I don't believe you can create new projects (or contexts) that way, however, so setting up new projects would be a bit of a headache. You would have to create a new project on the iPhone, sync, wait for the Mac application to sync (which you could accelerate by sending an email action to it, which will cause a sync a minute after it is received from the Mail app), then send the action(s) for the new project. You could also jury-rig something with Applescript that ran when you emailed a certain address and had OmniFocus create a new project, if doing so is a frequent need.
Great! I'll try it asap.

One other thing: it seems to work best if you set up a separate account for receiving such emails that you do not have configured for reading on your mail clients. The reason for this is that Mail apparently won't apply the rule that gets the message to OmniFocus if it isn't the first client to see the message, and even if you have Mail set to check for new mail every minute, the program you are sending from may check for new mail on the account when you send a message, win the race, and then it won't be processed into OmniFocus. So, my advice is to set up an account you use only for sending email to OmniFocus, and don't configure any mail clients to use it except the one running on the desktop with OmniFocus.

I only use OmniFocus on my iPod touch. I do not have a Mac. I am currently over 2,000 actions/items. I have created an online tool that allows me to quickly enter in many items into OmniFocus at once (or rapid fire).

You need to be careful to escape special characters, such as ampersands and apostrophes, but it has saved me*countless hours, and makes it possible to use OmniFocus ONLY on my Touch.

Give it a try:

What about install LogMeIn free on your Mac and leaving it on at home and accessing your Mac using a browser.
