... most, if not all, major browsers all doing this now, using Netcraft and/or Phishtank.

OmniWeb is not most major browsers. If OmniWeb is to be the browser of choice of the typical power user ... could we have something modular that supported multiple antiphishing systems, with better-than-average facilities for reporting found phishes?

[Mac zealots please note: the M$ antiphishing stuff allegedly uses data licensed from Netcraft.]
 
I suggested to use http://www.phishtank.com data freely as it is community based, open and you can easily fix the things which are wrong very easily. It is backed by OpenDNS

1password came up with same idea and in fact, phishing protection with phishtank happens _right now_ if you use 1password/omniweb integration and enabled phishing protection in 1password prefs.

No cats died as result ;-)

Best thing is, WE can help, as users. Several prestigious vendors like Kaspersky keeps them updated with their own data too.
