Sub/Indented Tasks lost during sync Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hello all,
I'm not sure if anyone is experiencing this, or if I just am doing something incorrectly. Here's what is happening:

1) I have created Projects in OnniFocus on my Mac.
2) I have created sub-folders for these projects (example: CourseA, sub-Mod1, sub-Mod2, etc)
3) Then, I place tasks into the sub-Mods (Read Chapter 1, Do Practice Test, Exam, etc)

This creates a nice structure:
CourseA
>ModuleA
>>Read
>>Study
>>Test

Everything is lovely! However.....

Sometimes I don't do things on time :)

On the iPad, I will "Add +1 day" or "Add +1 Week" (love that feature)

When I sync - all my "structure" is lost. The tasks will fall into my Project Folder (Education), but will not go back to the sub-sub folders where they came from.

For now, I have restored from a database that had my original structure and am managing all my work on the Mac with the iPad only being used to see what to do next and marking tasks as complete, etc.

I would LOVE to use the iPad forecast feature to modify dates and such, but not at the expense of losing the structure back on the Mac when sync occurs.

Any ideas?

First suggestion: OmniFocus queries might get more answers in the OmniFocus forum, not the OmniGraffle forum :-)

Second suggestion: contact the support ninjas tomorrow for help. 800-315-OMNI or +1-206-523-4152 or use Contact Omni in the gear menu in the iPad app. I can't quite figure out what is going on from your description, but I change dates all the time and have plenty of nesting in my project structure without any of the problems you are reporting while syncing. They should be able to get to the bottom of it with you.

Doh! I can't believe I posted in the wrong forum.... ga!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give it a try (both!)
