OK...

I'm missing something easy...I know it.

In mail, the clipotron say's that it will

Assigns the subject of the selected message as the title of the inbox item. Includes a link to the sender of the message, a link to the original message, and the flagged state.

But I keep getting the entire message in the note section. I just want the links...not the whole message.

How do I get off this crazy thing...Judy?

If you select a message in mails column view without opening you will get the whole message in your notes section with the links. If you open the mail message and select the subject or some other text then clip you will only get the selected text in your notes and the links. Hope this helps.

Just to add one additional alternative to what ckpiv is suggesting. If you want to customize further, I often want to change the subject and remove part of the message, just email to yourself using your subject trigger. This of course requires the mail script.
