What criteria determines sort order in "Due Soon"? [Answer: Earliest due dates @ top] Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
How is the Due Soon perspective in iPhone set up? The sequencing of actions on that display isn't obvious to me.

Happy to help - they're ordered by due date/time - items at the top of the list are due first.

(In the "Overdue" view, most overdue is at the top, least overdue is at the bottom.)

Yes, that would be obvious, but it doesn't seem to work that way. If I look at "due soon" in the desktop it is not the same sequence as in the iPhone client. The iPhone is not displaying actions in date sequence for some reason.

It may seem that way, but there are a couple of things that can trip you up. First is that the "due soon" action selector doesn't do any sorting of its own; the actions are still sorted according to the sort selector in the view bar, which might well put them in something other than chronological order. Also, the Due Soon smart folder on the iPhone will include items in the Inbox, whereas the built-in Due perspective on the desktop will not. Finally, the Due Soon smart folder on the iPhone behaves somewhat differently with respect to items which are due soon but not yet available. If you really think this doesn't explain what you are seeing, turn on the completion date column display and send a picture of your screen showing what the desktop thinks is due soon and a screen capture on your iPhone/iPod to the support ninjas at omnifocus@omnigroup.com so they can have a look.
