"Also restore settings for other mode" Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I completely do not understand this.

"Also"? In addition to what?

"Restore"? to what? And when does that restore happen?

Maybe someone here can help me.

I have this trouble with "due date" column not sticking: I'm in a perspective that shows the due date. I clikc on a task, click Switch, and now the due date is not showing. I can add it, but next time I switch from the perspective it'll be gone again. How do I get it to stick?

Omni support claims they have no other reports about this issue, but they also can't talk me through how to get it to stick.

Victor.

It means that when you take a snapshot it preserves the view of the project mode if you are in context mode or of the context mode when you are in project mode, so that when you restore it, your selections, views and columns in both views are restored. If you don't select that option, then the state of the other view is not preserved (I assume, haven't tried not setting that toggle myself).

The latter problem you are having might be because you haven't checked this option?

No, it was checked, but apparently the "other mode" did not have the right settings when I took the snapshot.

Thanks so much! I've gone through half a dozen emails with Omni support where I describe every step I do, including screen shots, all to no avail.

Victor.

There's a long-standing bug that you may be running into. See Bug #2 in this thread

I've gotten into the habit of applying a perspective twice, every time I switch perspectives, to guarantee that all settings are applied to both modes.
