I have found nothing (yet) on using this from a few computers, accessing one database and adding and viewing tasks... Like from the kitchen when the main computer is upstairs. Can one use file-sharing or .mac to make the system available in this way?

This should work fine. You might have some issues with changes being made with two computers being open, because the sync conflict resolution code in OF is still incomplete.
But if you are "taking turns" it should work very well. -P
