It's somewhat cumbersome, but worthwhile. Drop the image into OG, then go to the image inspector (from menu, Inspectors-->Image, or Command-4). Then, from the drag down menu, change the "stretched" option to "natural size". Then use the percentages to change the size of the image and use the sizing handles to resize the shape to crop. You can also use the little guide in the inspector to move the masking shape about on the image. It's difficult to explain, but you'll see what I mean.

I forget if this is an OG Pro feature.

If you want to drop an image into a shape, first create the shape in OG, then drag the image from finder onto the shape. Proceed as described above.
