Omniweb won't boot Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hi,

Using OS 10.3.9 yesterday evening dowloaded the Omniweb update and installed it, but it won't open. Tried reinstalling this AM, same result. Been using Omniweb for years and reinstalled it overtop my earlier version :/ Now I'm Omniless ... any suggestions?

Kenneth

Sorry about this. OmniWeb 5.5 is 10.4 only and will just crash if you try running it on anything earlier. You can download OmniWeb 5.1.3 from this link:

Great! Upgrading from my old G4 PowerBook in the spring, so good to know. Working fine again.

Wish I'd seen this before ordering Omniweb :(

It's really not very clear what version is required - I assumed Panther would be fine and did not see the tiny "more info" link.

Not a big deal for $10, but I think that it would be better to display that info on the main page.

We do place the system requirements with the download link but you're right it isn't clearly stated in the OmniWeb store page.

If you would prefer a refund we do have a 30 days no questions asked return policy.

Just contact sales@omnigroup.com.

At http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omniweb/ you can download it directly. One has to click "more info" below the download button to go to the download page where the sys reqs are mentioned. My suggestion would be to put a "For 10.4.6 or Later" between the "5.5.1, 16.5 MB" line and the "more info" line.

Ah indeed. Going from the store to the product info page and following that download link you'll never see the system requirements.

Also, I should mention 5.1.3 (the last version to support 10.3.9) is available here:

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Thanks for the refund offer - I'll keep the license as I intend to get a MacBook in the new year, so that will come with Tiger installed (or maybe even Leopard if I'm lucky).

In the meantime, I'll use 5.1.3 on the iMac, and uninstall it once I put 5.5.x on the laptop.

Cheers
Sparrowhawk
