Downgraded to 3.1.3 and now OM crashes

Hi Guys,
I just downgraded my iPhone 3G to 3.1.3 from 4.1 (tired of the slow performance especially in iCal and maps) but now it crashes everytime I try to Set Up Sync. It logs in fine, seems to download the database and then crashes before it can finish Optimizing database. Any ideas?
