I've tried the help, and Google, and the forums, but I can't see how to change the defaults (e.g. end arrow head) for a connecting line.

I know it's possible because I've changed it to something I don't want without realising and want to change it back!

And tips appreciated!

Ok - I figured it. It's the same as for the previous version, but not intuitive and also not popping out of the help system, so I forgot!

Click the line tool icon on the toolbar twice to put it into default settings mode:

Default icon:



After first click:



After second click:



Then use the inspector to make changes to the line settings, such as arrow heads. These changes will then become the new default.
