Style Attributes for Whole Document Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I use OmniOutliner every day, and have a half-dozen or so templates that I use on a weekly basis, at least.

One of my perpetual frustrations is that, on some of my templates, I somehow succeeded in setting a “whole document” Style Attribute so that every row is the same font and size— while on others, I failed to accomplish this, and now I must re-format the child rows every time to get them to be the font and size I want. For all of my poking and searching, I cannot find a way to set “whole document” Style Attributes.

Could someone help me? This is probably a very basic question, and maybe I’m the only one who can’t figure it out! (I don’t see any other requests in the forum for it…) But I’m stuck and frustrated.

Thanks.

The whole document style can be set by opening the the utility drawer (Utilities button in the toolbar or View menu -> Show Utility Drawer) and then selecting the 'Whole Document' style in the style palette in the botton section of the drawer. With that selected you can set the style like you would anything else using the inspectors. Let me know if you need any additional help with this!

Derek,

Heroic answer. Thanks for your help.

Hi, this is a good start, but trying to set my font styles is not working well.

I opened the utility drawer and right-clicked on WHOLE DOCUMENT and cleared all the styles - just so I can start from scratch.

Then I selected ALL LEVEL 1 ROWS.

Then I went to the Inspector and changed the font color. But it's not changing the color of the level 1 rows. Same with level 2.

How do I reset all the styles (including any non-global exceptions I've made)??

This can be a very frustrating application sometimes.

Jimmy, please contact support at omnioutliner@omnigroup.com and one of our ninjas will gladly help you figure this out. Under normal circumstances, what you described should work.
