Howdy,

I just visited this page
http://aruljohn.com/details.php
with Safari 3 Beta and OW 5.5, and the biggest surprise was that Safari 3 Beta supports perhaps 20 more mime types than OW. Is this purely a function of the webkit versions (522 for Safari vs 420 for OW) or does Safari 3 do something special?

Should we care?

Payam

This may have something to do with the particular mime types. What is OmniWeb missing?

I see that there are lots of types that OmniWeb definitely supports but aren't listed. It appears that OmniWeb isn't reporting everything with navigator.mimeTypes.

I wouldn't care. The mime thing is very basic, websites (multimedia ones) ask the plugin directly if it exists and which version.

the original browser test I would care is

http://gemal.dk/browserspy/

You should care especially about Flash and Realplayer tests there. They seem OK to me.
