I'd like to automate the process of taking a selection of text from Word, passing it through a command line program, and sticking the result in a new OmniOutliner document based on a specific template.

I've been banging my head against Automator for a couple days now... I'm a moderately competent programmer but this looks like a job for either AppleScript or Automator, and I've never been very successful in using either.

Any help would be most appreciated!
