Find/Replace with indents Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hey, I'm wondering if it's possible to do a find/replace in an outline and replace the characters with indents (either natively in OO or through a script).

For example, in MediaWiki, outlines/indents are created by adding asterisks at the start of each line of text:
1st level
*2nd level
**3rd level

If OO could do a Find/Replace that changed the *'s to indents, I could pull the raw text straight from the wiki and format everything nicely into OO's format. If this isn't a feature, please consider adding it, as this could allow easy importing of other formats in addition to MediaWiki.

As for going the opposite direction, changing OO to MediaWiki format, I found a script that will do that at the link below. It would be nice to be able to do this right in OO, though, ie Turn each level of indent into "*" or any other character string. But going from MediaWiki to OO is my main concern right now.

Thanks!
