Effort not connected to duration Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
In my project plans, I often need to allow a customer some number of days to review a deliverable. The review may take 2 hours, but we often need to allow them three working days to accomplish it. How do I set effort and duration to account for this, so that:

* the effort comes out right in reports (2 hours)
* we allow three days for its completion, and
* if the task is actually completed in 1 day, our revised project plan can account for that?

You could create a 2 hour long task and set a start and end date constraint in the "Task : Information" inspector. This allows you to note that the task will only take 2 hours, but it can be done within that 3 day time frame. If the task actually takes 1 day instead of 2 hours, you would just adjust the effort value to 1 day.
