So when I go to open OF, it acts as if there's no database open, but it ignores me if I try to open a database or do anything else. I had a similiar problem in iWork recently. Any suggestions?

That's pretty strange! Would you mind sending us an email at omnifocus@omnigroup.com with details and screenshots?
Specifically, do you see the menubar after launching OmniFocus? What happens if you go to File>New Window? Did you recently use an external monitor with your Mac?
