Original mail URLs not clickable in OF on iOS Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
When I use the mail clipper to create a new task on the desktop, the note of the task includes the contents of the email, but it also includes a link to the original message. On OF for Mac, clicking this will open the message in Mail. But in OF on both iPhone and iPad, the message: link is not properly detected and instead it links as a (bad) email address. If you carefully copy and paste the entire URL from message: to the end, and paste it into mobile Safari, it will launch Mail and show the original message (assuming it's available on the iOS device).

Would it be possible to properly detect these links in notes so that the jump to the original message can happen with a single tap? Is there something about the notes field that makes it hard to parse for those kinds of links? The way it "detects" an email address instead isn't just unhelpful, it's actually wrong and detrimental. Not detecting a link of any kind would be better than how it is currently.

Given how many tasks are related to email (even if just to respond and let someone know it's done), having the ability to jump quickly back to the originating message seems like a very important feature, yet almost no task management system does it well.
