I use OmniGraffle together with Latex for my thesis. OmniGraffle is great for that. I can export my figures as pdf and pdflatex is able to embed the figures. This way the vectors are preserved in the latex-PDF and the print looks fine! There is only one issue: The shadows are exported as pictures, I think. So they look very pixelated and compared to the rest not very professional. The same applies to patterns that are used as textures.
Is there a work around to improve the quality of the shadows? Or would it even work to export the shadow using pdf functions so that the shadow is rendered by the pdf-viewer?
I'm thankful for any hint on that!
