using OW 5.5 V607. have hotsheet.com entered as start page in OW preferences but when I open OW I get the bookmark page. please help, thx

Have you saved a snapshot? If so it is likely that the snapshot is being restored. Open your workspaces window and take a new snapshot with your home page to make it the default.
