How to make an object translucent? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Does anyone know how to make an object translucent? I can't find a setting for translucence anywhere.

My canvas is filled with a picture. I put a rectangle on top of it, give it a light green fill, and type some text in it.

I need to be able to make this text object translucent so that some of the background image on the canvas can be seen.

How do I do this?

Found it:

Select object
Open Inspector
Go to Style:Fill Inspector
Select "Fill Color" box at top right of fill area in Style:Fill Inspector
This should bring up the Color menu(s)
No matter which Color menu/icon you select at the top--"Color Wheel", "Color Sliders", "Color Palettes", etc.--at the bottom you'll have a slider called "Opacity"
Use that slider to control translucence/opacity of the object
