Clippings Shortcut requires command key in 1.9? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
1.9 seems to have come with a new, undocumented behavior: you can no longer assign a Clippings Shortcut that doesn't include the command key.

When you go to Preferences > Clippings and click the control for assigning the shortcut, the command key "clover" symbol is pre-populated, and any combination that you type will include the command key, whether or not you're actually holding the key.

Is this a bug in the new version or an intentional change in behavior? Frankly, I liked my old, command-free shortcut! :-)

It is intentional, to eliminate some issues where clipping shortcuts might not work reliably in all circumstances. Brian has some background info here:

Kind of a bummer if you have to adopt a new shortcut because of a fix for a problem you weren't having (or are not even able to have, if you've got a PPC-based machine).
