CSS styled form widgets not displaying properly Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
i understood from various things written on this forum and elsewhere that 5,5 would support CSS styling of form widgets. however, this doesn't seem to be working properly, judging by the rendering of the form widgets in the unclassified newsboard forum software [as used on the appletalker forums, amongst others].

here's how the "post reply" form correctly renders in firefox [note the coloured text-formatting buttons:

[EDIT: ach! fer feck's sake, the damned image tags don't work. oh well, here are the links!]

here's what safari makes of it:

... very aqualicious but not very informative - tho' at least the buttons are there!

but when it comes to omniweb:

... oh dear! - that's not much help at all really, is it?

the code defining the buttons seems OK to me, so i wonder why omniweb [and safari] choose to ignore it, given that widget styling is supposed to be working now?

Code:
<input type="button" value="" class="colourbutton" style="width: 13px; background-color: crimson;" title="Red" onclick="UnbEditorDoCmd(event, 'color', 'crimson');"
/>

Well--some level of styling is working since the buttons aren't aqua... hopefully this will work better in 5.5.1 once we get to the top-of-tree for WebKit.

let's hope so.

it might seem like a minor issue but, as with all these small details - if it affects a site you use on a daily basis, the cumulative effect of those tiny daily niggles, ends up making it a bit of a deal-breaker.
