Opening graffle images in Word for Mac Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I'm trying to insert a graffle-created image in a document created in Mac for Word. If I export from graffle as a JPEG it comes out fuzzy. Nothing Word Help tells me how to insert an HTML image into a document. What export formart can i use to get the sharpest image possible?

Did you try PDF? I don't use Word, so I can't test the suggestion, but it seems to work in Pages.

Good idea. Word Help says its possible but I've heard that before. Let me try. I'll get back to you.

What we usually do is select all the objects in omnigraffle and then copy and paste them into word for mac.

What can be annoying is that sometimes f.ex. a space character shows up as a symbolic character instead when opening the word document in windows.

I have tried exporting the document as a visio xml doc and can see that omnigraffle inputs garbage in the xml document in those places. It looks completely fine in word for mac tho.

If you want to export an image for import make sure you up the Bitmap resolution in the export dialogue. I use 400 DPI and export as PNG then import the PNG into word. This usually gives me an ok looking image.

Thanks, guys. I knew you would come through. I tried PDF first and that worked extremely well -- nice crisp image with no garbage. Good to know, though, that there is a fall back position.

Looking at what gets put on the clipboard, I'd say it's pretty likely that the copy/paste approach is identical to the PDF approach...

Hmmm. I didn't try the cut/paste method. what i did was export the image as a PDF then insert it in my document as a photo. Guess the results are the same.
