I expected it to be about $40, which is of course the early-bird price. I am also somewhat surprised that there is no discount for the people who contributed bug reports and suggestions during the alpha/beta phase. I know that having access to the software is considered a fair exchange, but there you go.
I'm also using Contactizer Pro and prior to OF used iGTD on and off. I really like OF but need to think before I drop $40 on this.

Of course, everyone has to make up his/her own mind before purchasing a product. However, in terms of marketing, I think this makes a perfect sense. By charging $80 instead of $40 or $30, you limit the product sales to the folks who are really serious about using the product, and thus benefit most from the product. Since they are charging $80 instead of $40, they don't have to sell as many copies to make the same amount of revenues. This of course has a couple of side benefits:
1. since most folks will benefit greatly from using the program, the product will be highly supported by the client base and get good words-of-mouth advertising.
2. since there will be "fewer" users, Omini can support their customers better and focus more on continuing to develop the product (of course, they will also get "valuable" feedback from those of us who use the product consistently.
As far as not rewarding folks, I beg to differ. Everyone here is getting a break here (at least 50%), and those of us who supported Omni earlier by purchasing the OO 3 pro license gets even more break. So, those of us who have been participating in the earlier version, the price point is really great!
Just another perspective.
