OmniFocus upgrade lost data Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hi;
I had OmniFocus 1.03 installed and bought the iPhone module, so upgraded to OmniFocus latest alpha. I dragged the old app to the trash, installed the new one, then allowed it to migrate my data. I didn't realize that I hadn't closed the old version before doing this, so version 1.03 was still running while 1.15 was migrating the data. When the migration was done, Version 1.15 only shows the actions I entered today. I tried restoring from backup, but the backup only had the items I created today. I then closed 1.15 and opened 1.03, which said that the database had been converted and it couldn't read it.
Is there any way to get my old database back?
Thanks,
Neil

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this caused! Your data should have been backed up as part of the upgrade process: if you open up your documents folder, you should see an "OmniFocus Backups" folder. Opening up the last backup before your database was upgraded should show the data as existed at that point. Does that help?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
