The contained items don't show up as available, but aren't archived by the auto-archive command. I use a Dropped folder to store template projects and it works well.
Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I'm just getting started with OF and am searching the forums for previous discussions on select topics.

I created a Someday/Maybe folder and set its status to dropped as you suggested. The problem is it immediately disappeared from view. Naturally I had to adjust the project filter to see it again, but it didn't show up in ANY of the available filters except "All Projects". I assume as time goes on that view will become quite a large and cluttered list of completed, held, and active projects making it difficult to find the Someday/Maybe folder. This also makes it very cumbersome to add projects to the Someday/Maybe list which I'm expecting to be a frequent occurrence.

Or am I missing something here?

Oops, I should have kept going through my search results before I sent the previous reply. I think I've found my answer in this thread:

Here's a shot of the custom view synced to my iPhone.

Or you could always just create a single task called Someday/Maybe and place all of these items in the notes field of the task.

I only suggest this route since it looks like you are looking for a general collection bin for these items. However, having these as assigned Contexts makes a lot more sense since I have the ability of promoting them to true tasks in my review process.
What version of the app is this? I dont see this SOMEDAY icon, nor the ACTION items! How do you get this?

jchiar, OmniFocus for Mac supports creating custom views of your database called "Perspectives". Once those views are created on the Mac, they can be synced over to the phone. (Well, they're always synced over, but you can make them visible in the iPhone app's settings screen.)

Policarpo has done this, and given the items in question custom icons. In case it helps, here's a post where I walk someone through setting up a perspective on their Mac...
