OmniOutliner as an editor for LaTex? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Since I am a big fan of OmniOutliner, I like to use it as the primary editor for my LaTex documents.
I knew there is a plugin to export OmniOutliner documents to LaTex ones. But, I need more advanced features such as forward and backward search with Skim. Are you using OmniOutliner as LaTex editor? If so, please tell me your story. Thanks.

I'd be interested in hearing how this would work, in general. Its not clear. What is the advantage of using OO for any sort of editing, other than outlines?

I have been trying to use applescript to generate LaTeX equations from text and paste them into OO, but this appears to be impossible -- there is no "paste" or "insert graphic" functionality available from AppleScript.

I am using OO because it helps me to organize document structures better. For LaTex editing, I insert LaTex code directly without resorting to any conversion tool. For example, to insert a graph, I just type \includegraph command.

To use OO as a LaTex editor, what I need are:
1. Syntax highlighting,
2. Forward and inverse search with Skim.

If these functions can be supported (maybe with some scripts), I will happily use OO as my primary LaTex editor.
