ok, just sent something to the ninjas. i don't think it's a ligature bug, but i'll let them decide. would be nice to not have to deal with this anymore. especially when my client wants a copy, it looks like i can't type. it looks very unprofessional. thanks guys!
 
Pulled this out of the release notes for the v1.6 sneakypeeks. Haven't seen this bug myself, but it sounds like what was being discussed:
  • Fixed a printing issue where we were laying out the outline with a screen font, but printing it with a printer font. This caused gaps after ligatures in words like "shuffle" and "files".

If that sounds like your bug, help is on the way. :-)
 
i've been assured by the ninjas that this is a bug, and they have it addressed in the next version. good news! will let you know if it works. thanks omni!
 
Thanks Brian. I am a newbie but very glad I read this thread. The 75% scale in page setup is just what I needed, and the fact that you can save the setting with the perspective is a major plus. I was a bit embarassed to distribute the reports with such a large type, but this has solved my problem. John
