Anyone have any good examples for a basic outliner template that makes it visually easy to distinguish different levels of rows?

It's just for my own use for note-taking, rarely if ever for printing.

I've experimented with different color/type fonts, bold/italic, etc. Maybe someone with better design sense has an idea to keep it from becoming a visual mess. Omni has some nice samples, but none really appropriate for simple note-taking with several different levels I don't think.
